Turkey’s parliament has ratified a defence pact with Saudi Arabia and Pakistan under which an attack on one is treated as an attack on all three.
The agreement covers military cooperation, intelligence sharing and defence industries.
Riyadh is seeking regional backing against Houthi attacks from Yemen.
Lawmakers backed the pact by 279 votes to 119, with opposition parties warning that Turkey could be drawn into regional wars.
Turkish officials ruled out sending troops to fight in Yemen, while any deployment would require a separate parliamentary vote.
