The proposal could face congressional scrutiny and would test Washington's commitment to preserving Israel's military advantage, as Israel is currently the only Middle Eastern country operating the aircraft.

🇵🇱🇷🇺 Poland warns of Russian strikes

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk warned of Russian plans for drone or rocket strikes against European countries supporting Ukraine, including Poland.

He said Moscow could portray such attacks as accidents to weaken NATO's willingness to respond.

Prime Minister Tusk said his warnings drew on intelligence from NATO, Ukrainian and US services, including the CIA.

He also warned that faster, higher-flying jet-powered drones were harder for air defences to detect.

He announced plans to visit Kyiv to discuss countering the new drones with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

4️⃣ 🇺🇸🇸🇾 Former Syrian prison chief sentenced to 60 years in US: A US judge sentenced former Syrian official Samir Ousman Alsheikh to 60 years in prison after his conviction for torture and related offences while running Adra Prison under former President Bashar al-Assad. His lawyers said they would appeal the sentence, while the Justice Department described him as the highest-ranking former Assad official tried and convicted in person outside Syria.

5️⃣ 🇮🇷🇸🇪 Iran orders Swedish diplomat to leave: Iran summoned Sweden's ambassador and ordered a Swedish diplomat to leave within 48 hours in response to Stockholm's expulsion of an Iranian embassy official. Sweden had cited activities incompatible with diplomatic rules without giving details, while Iran rejected that justification as baseless and accused Stockholm of disrupting its embassy's work.
