🇩🇪🇷🇺 Germany warns of Russian stockpiling

German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius warned that Russia was stockpiling for future conflicts as he addressed parliament on Wednesday.

He said Moscow was directing substantial resources towards replenishing its weapons reserves rather than deploying them in Ukraine.

He also accused Russia of spying, intimidation and attempts to destabilise society.

Pistorius argued that capable German armed forces and a united NATO were necessary to protect the country's way of life.

He defended a proposed 2027 military budget of roughly €140bn, including special-fund spending, with the regular defence budget rising by 32.7%.
