🇩🇰🇷🇺 Denmark summons Russian ambassador

Denmark has summoned Russia's ambassador after a Russian warship fired two flares at a Danish military helicopter in the Baltic Sea.

The Danish armed forces said one passed close to the Fennec helicopter as it photographed a Russian frigate during a routine operation in international waters off Gedser.

Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen described the action as reckless and accused Russia of trying to intimidate and divide.

Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen said Moscow was gradually changing what it considered acceptable behaviour, calling the incident unacceptable.

Russian ambassador Vladimir Barbin said Moscow would investigate but accused Danish helicopters of dangerous manoeuvres near Russian warships and described the latest incident as provocative.
